FEATURED REVIEW

We stayed at Fish Tales cottage on Casuarina Point in Abaco this past winter. Upon arrival, we were impressed with the updates our hosts had made since our previous visit. Brand new propane stove and refrigerator (with ice maker--in our opinion, an absolute must-have on the Island) in the kitchen, new washing machine and dryer in the laundry room, high-speed internet, new comfy beds in both bedrooms, and new outdoor seating set and lounge chairs for the screen porch. A new outdoor grill on the porch and all of the useful kitchen gadgets to go along with cooking.  In the cases where we had questions or needed assistance, nearby caretakers were available to assist or, if needed, coordinate with local services.

But let us get back to the screen porch... this space is the highlight of Fish Tales: a multi-purpose space--bug-free sunrise viewing platform, morning coffee lounge, brunch bistro, happy hour venue, and sunset photo lab. The views from the screen porch are, at the same time, both stimulating and soothing. But enough said about the screen porch.... A picture really is worth a thousand words.

Fish Tales is situated in the middle of beautiful Casuarina Point. Bonefish can be caught on the fly or on spinning gear just steps in front of the screen porch. A short walk down the beach will take you to the sandbar, where you can fish for reef fish or comb for sand dollars, conch shells, starfish, and a variety of other sea life. The house also offers kayak and paddleboards for the more energetic adventurous guests who want to explore the miles of flat calm waters in search of blue holes and other prime snorkeling spots.

We have visited Casuarina Point every winter for the past 12 years and have stayed at many homes along the beach. While Fish Tales may not be the largest or fanciest home on the beach, we believe it best epitomizes the Casuarina aura and attitude....it is the only spot we will return to year after year. We've already made plans to return for a longer visit next year.

More from our guests

Our stay at Kellie’s house was absolutely the best. The place was immaculately clean. The beach is spectacular. Waking up and going to sleep to the most amazing sunrises and sunsets.

There is a lot to explore and if you are a nature enthusiast you will love kayaking to some of the very small islands you see off in the distance when it is low tide.

If you want a vacation where you can unplug and get away from it all than this is the place!
